Corporate Social Responsibility is a powerful aspect of UTC
Corporate Social Responsibility is a powerful aspect of UTC’s activity and represents a key driver for making a positive impact in the community.
For UTC, acts of solidarity are a strategic choice and its contribution to addressing societal issues is measured in actions. In particular:
A prominent example of the company’s social commitment is the project “Driven by Solidarity” which is being implemented since 2021. Currently, the project supports the Panhellenic Association of Women with Breast Cancer “Alma Zois”. As a distinguished sponsor, UTC contributed to the goals of the Greece Race for the Cure 2023, the largest institution aiming to raise public awareness of breast cancer in the world. UTC has also committed to cover the daily needs of the Alma Zois Association to ensure its smooth operation.
In previous years, UTC has also stood by the vulnerable social group of children and adolescents who are hosted by the charitable organizations “SOS Children’s Villages” and “Ark of the World“. The aim was to cover certain needs to facilitate their daily life, such as food, heating and children’s transportation.
For one year, it covered breakfast and lunch expenses for all the children in the SOS Children’s Village of Vari, as well as heating costs.
At the Ark of the World, UTC took care of transportation needs. Specifically, the company donated a new car to facilitate the children’s transportation to extracurricular activities, medical care etc. It also delivered a new nine-seat van to further support the group transportation of the Ark’s children. In addition, UTC has funded the renovation of five houses in the shelter for refugee families from Ukraine on the island of Chios.
In 2022, UTC was honored by the Voluntary Organization for the Care and Protection of Mothers and Children “Ark of the World” for its invaluable assistance and ongoing dedication to the Organization’s long-standing mission. The “Gratitude” award was received by the company’s President and CEO, Ioannis Michos.
